Volunteer

All Classroom Volunteers must complete the Volunteer form every year and submit it along with proof of the TB test.  Forms can be turned into the Jerabek's Main Office.  The volunteer form is available for download at the bottom of this page.

PLEASE NOTE: TB tests are good for 4 years.  Save your TB test results because you will need to resubmit a copy of it every year with your new Volunteer form.

Art Corps

ART CORPS™ is a comprehensive, developmental curriculum, which teaches art fundamentals by bringing process oriented hands-on art experiences to the classroom. We believe that everyone is an artist. Art gives our children a unique opportunity to react to their environment. This program allows every child to experience their artistic abilities in a positive way. ART CORPS™ is truly more than a curriculum. It is a parent-teacher partnership. It is a school-wide effort that involves many parents volunteering their time. It provides a forum for children to feel successful and to do so in a public way through an annual school wide event–the Art Show.  Art Show team members are needed!  The team will meet twice a month from February until May, and there is heavy involvement in the month of June.  Please join the team and make it the best Art Show ever!

Garden Club

Did you know that Jerabek currently has butterfly, shade, vegetable and fruit growing areas?    We want our children to care for their gardens and grow more than just plants.  Every child will have opportunity to learn and try something new.  Children can come, learn, and lead in collecting/creating materials, preparing beds, growing plants, harvesting and making art for the gardens.  Parents are encouraged to join in with your time, talent and donations.  Many opportunities for all!  Let's keep Jerabek flourishing.  Welcome to our club!

Green Team

Green Team includes all Jerabek students and families.   Our focus is promoting care of our earth and the environment.   Each month we have a different theme for activities, drives, and reminders to help make students aware of how they can protect our earth.  There are many opportunities for parent volunteers to help, such as training students in recycling, coordination of the student-led lunchtime recycling helpers, helping out with the October costume sale, helping out with the monthly morning eco-club meetings and shipping Terracyle items collected by students (shipping is free).  We're always looking for new ideas.

Read Across America

Read Across America (Dr. Seuss' Birthday) is a National Education Association-sponsored event whose goal is to have every child reading books on Theodore Geisel's birthday (March 2nd).  Jerabek teachers have taken this a step further by inviting families to an evening of reading in honor of Dr. Seuss.  Community leaders and special guests return year after year to read and entertain Jerabek families.  We end the evening by singing to Dr. Seuss and enjoying birthday cake.
